ABA THERAPY & BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS FOR CHILDREN

Before beginning toilet training: First assess bladder control, physical development and ability to follow instructions to see if child has developed sufficiently to acquire toilet training skills. A child is ready to be trained if he or she:
  1. Picks up objects easily and walks without assistance; and can follow 10 instructions: point to nose, pull up your pants, sit on the chair, stand up, etc.
  2. Can relax while sitting on the toilet
  3. Is aware of how to empty the bladder
*Remember: This process should be fun! Make sitting on the toilet and the bathroom as exciting and positive and fun for your child as possible!
